ISIS committed this massacre in 2014 against about 1,700 students and soldiers at the Military College, known as Speicher, in Salah Al-Din Governorate in June 2014, when the northern and western areas of Iraq were under its control.
At the time, ISIS members shot the victims, at point blank, on the banks of the Tigris River and then threw their bodies either into the river, turning it red, or into a mass grave.
