Iraq: Rocket attack suspect arrested
The suspect was captured at Al-Sarha checkpoint north of Diyala, an Iraqi security official told Al Mayadeen.
Iraqi Security forces arrested a man it calls the "prime suspect" in the rocket attack on the Baghdad International Airport on Friday, an Iraqi security official revealed to Al Mayadeen.
The source added that the suspect was captured at Al-Sarha checkpoint, north of Diyala.
It is worth mentioning that Iraqi media said on Friday that Victoria Base at Baghdad Airport was targeted with at least six missiles, and anti-missile defense systems intercepted a number of them.
On the level of official reactions, the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, described the targeting of Baghdad International Airport as a "cowardly terrorist act, which revealed the criminals' insistence on undermining the security, obligations, and capabilities of the Iraqi people and endangering their interests."
On his account, Abu Ali Al-Askari, the head of the security office in Iraq's Kataib Hezbollah, said the reshuffling policy, with the latest targeting Baghdad airport, will not work.
