The head of the security office in Iraq's Hezbollah Brigades, Abu Ali al-Askari, has issued a statement condemning recent US sanctions, defending the group's activities, and addressing internal Iraqi politics ahead of the upcoming elections.
In the statement, al-Askari condemned the recent sanctions targeting alleged members of Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades, mocking them as "proof of weak intel," emphasizing that the group has no ties whatsoever to the names designated in the US Treasury report.
Moreover, he called on those who try to outbid the Resistance group by claiming to spare Iraq from wars to quit doing so, or else the Brigades will have to delve into details, as the "Islamic Resistance offered sacrifices to liberate Iraq and sought to avoid wars on several occasions" and "its men make decisions without any external interference."
Al-Askari emphasized in his statement that the arms of the people and the oppressed are inherently protected, and it is surely not a matter to be discussed with collaborators.
The statement addressed the upcoming elections in Iraq, emphasizing their significance in terms of the challenge ahead and the necessity for widespread participation and calling on the supporters of the Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades to participate in the elections.
