Iraqi Resistance targets US base in Syria with 7 missiles: Sources
Sources tell Al Mayadeen that Iraqi Resistance factions have targeted the US occupation base of Kharab al-Jir in al-Hasakah in northeast Syria.
Iraqi Resistance factions targeted the US occupation's Kharab al-Jir base in al-Hasakah's countryside, sources told Al Mayadeen.
The Kharab al-Jir base is located in the northeastern corner of Syria, which borders Turkey from the north and Iraq from the east. This is the second time that Iraqi Resistance factions have targeted US assets in the Middle East, since "Israel" renewed its aggression on the Gaza Strip on Friday morning.
Al Mayadeen's sources revealed that the "Resistance targeted the US base in the Kharab al-Jir airfield in the north of al-Hasakah's countryside with seven missiles," adding that the attack "occurred a few hours after the first wave of reinforcements arrived at the American base."
Earlier, a US military cargo plane, holding military equipment and weapons, arrived at the Kharab al-Jir airfield, after departing from the US bases in Iraqi Kurdistan, according to our sources.
Previously another shipment arrived at the airfield on Friday, carrying similar equipment and weapons, our sources said.
Moreover, sources told Al Mayadeen that the weapons that arrived in the airfield were for defense purposes and that the cargo was meant to be distributed among US occupation bases in Deir Ezzor and al-Hasakah. They also added that this comes in line with the US efforts to intercept the attacks launched by the Resistance.

US presence in the region: A legitimate target
Resistance factions in Iraq have previously said they consider US bases in the region as legitimate targets, as the US has offered "Israel" its "unwavering support", enabling it to carry out its massacres against the Palestinian people, by offering it the necessary military, financial, and diplomatic backing.
In this context, Resistance factions in Iraq and Syria have launched at least 80 attacks on US bases in the two countries. On the other hand, the US has, for the most part, left these attacks unanswered, highlighting the sensitivity of US presence in the region during regional uncertainty.
On Saturday, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced targeting the US base at Erbil Airport. In a statement, the Iraqi Resistance confirmed that "in response to the enemy's crimes against our people in Gaza, our fighters targeted the American occupation base at Erbil Airport with a drone that directly hit its target."
Additionally, Al Mayadeen's sources reported shelling that targeted US forces at Erbil Airport in the Iraqi Kurdistan region.
It is worth noting that the Resistance in Iraq has utilized multiple rocket launchers, short-range ballistic missiles, and swarms of attack drones in its operations against the US military presence in the region.
