IRGC arrests members of sabotage network run from Germany, Netherlands
The IRGC announces arresting members of a sabotage network that were planning to destabilize national security.
Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Tuesday arresting members of a sabotage network that were instructed by anti-Revolution elements based in Germany and the Netherlands.
In a statement, the public relations office of IRGC’s local branch in Iran’s central province of Markazi confirmed that 12 saboteurs had been arrested in one of the cities of the province.
The statement indicated that the members of the network were planning to destabilize national security by using war-grade weapons.
The Iranian television said the network was run by enemies of the Islamic Revolution residing in Germany and the Netherlands.
On Monday, the IRGC assured that the police, security authorities, and the Popular Mobilization Forces (Basij) will continue to block the attempts of rioters and terrorists to disrupt the country's stability.
In a statement, the IRGC stressed that dealing decisively and swiftly with those charged with rioting, vandalizing, and terrorizing is now a general requirement.
Iranian Security Minister Esmail Khatib said last November that it became clear in the recent events that the Israeli occupation was responsible for implementation, the UK media was responsible for sponsoring, and Saudi Arabia was responsible for financial support.
In the same context, Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi revealed mid-November that the leaders of the recent riots in Iran received training in seven countries.
In late October, the Iranian Intelligence Ministry and the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps' intelligence wing revealed that intelligence obtained by Tehran indicates that the CIA and allied intelligence services planned a conspiracy in Iran against the Islamic Republic.
It is noteworthy that the Security Council of the Iranian Interior Ministry announced that the riot toll to date since September is around 200 deaths with over $200 million in private and public property damage.
