IRGC eliminates 4 terrorists, seizes weapons in Sistan and Baluchestan
The IRGC has successfully eliminated four foreign-backed militants in Sistan and Baluchestan, seizing a cache of weapons, while vowing to pursue the remaining elements.
The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) killed four militants backed by foreign forces in Sistan and Baluchestan province during an operation aimed at securing the southeastern region.
Speaking to the Iranian news agency, Tasnim, an IRGC representative underscored that the operation was successful.
In turn, General Ahmad Shafahi, the spokesperson for the exercise, revealed that the IRGC forces seized a vehicle along with a large stockpile of weapons and ammunition during the mission.
"The pursuit and elimination of the remaining elements of this terrorist group will continue," Shafahi stated, confirming the martyrdom of one IRGC member during the operation.
IRGC continues fight against terrorism on eastern borders
On the domestic front, Shafahi, confirmed, earlier on November 6, that the force continues to fight terrorism in its eastern borders and in the Sistan and Baluchestan province with the participation of other security agencies.
He said that these efforts aim to clear "these areas of terrorists" and enhance security.
Shafahi said the majority of weapons used by such terrorists in eastern provinces are Western-made, specifically American-made. He explained that this is part of the West's strategy to cause instability in Iran.
In this context, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Pakistani counterpart, Ishaq Dar, held talks regarding terrorist movements in the border region of Sistan and Baluchestan.
Both sides emphasized their determination to intensify efforts to confront terrorist groups and increase coordination in this regard.
