The spokesperson of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) has dismissed recent comments by US President Donald Trump as "nonsense," attributing them to the psychological impact of the recent 12-day war with Iran.
“Today marks a historic and decisive day in Iran,” he said. “The world witnessed a powerful display of national unity, honor, and resistance. The massive turnout at today’s ceremony sent a message of strength to enemies and sincere gratitude for the martyrs of Iran’s sovereignty," referring to the funeral ceremony held for Iranians martyred in Israeli strikes on Iran.
Addressing Trump directly, the IRGC spokesman said, “We advise him to open his eyes and stop his nonsense statements and erratic behavior," adding that the defeat of "Israel" had clearly left Trump disoriented.
National unity, resistance pillars in Tehran
The spokesman emphasized the unity displayed during the national ceremony, describing it as a testament to Iran’s enduring resistance. “Trump still has no grasp of the true sources of Iran’s strength. As the Leader of the Islamic Revolution rightly said, ‘He speaks bigger than his mouth can handle,’” he noted.
He further criticized Trump’s attempts to misrepresent Iran’s performance throughout the war. “Trump foolishly believes he can alter the global perception of Iran’s victory with baseless rhetoric, but the reality speaks otherwise,” he concluded.
Lastly, the IRGC official highlighted that both the Israeli regime and the US failed to achieve their stated objectives. Instead, Iran’s retaliatory capabilities were perceived as an existential threat to the Israeli occupation.
Iran calls on UN to condemn statements threatening Sayyed Khamenei
Iran called on the United Nations on Friday to formally denounce recent threats made by the United States and "Israel" against the Iranian Leader, Sayyed Ali Khamenei. The appeal was made by Iran’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Amir Saeid Iravani, who submitted a formal letter addressing what he described as violations of international law and incitement to state terrorism.
In the letter, Iravani condemned a recent statement by US President Donald Trump, who wrote on Truth Social that he "knew exactly" where Sayyed Khamenei was but refrained from allowing "Israel" or the US military to "terminate his life." Trump also claimed he had prevented what he called an "ugly and ignominious death" for the Iranian leader.
"Such reckless and deliberate threats by senior officials constitute a serious violation of the Charter of the United Nations, particularly Article 2(4), which unequivocally prohibits both the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any State," Iravani stated. He added that these actions breached well-established principles of international law, including the inviolability of Heads of State.
