Iron Dome hit by technical malfunction during latest confrontation
The Israeli occupation forces admit that the Iron Dome was affected by a technical malfunction after rockets were launched from Gaza toward Israeli settlements.
A technical malfunction affected the Israeli occupation's Iron Dome as rockets were raining down upon the occupation's settlements on Tuesday after the resistance in Gaza responded to "Tel Aviv's" murder of Palestinian Islamic Jihad senior official Khader Adnan, the Israeli occupation forces admitted on Thursday.
"The investigation carried out by the Air Force regarding the activity of the Iron Dome between Tuesday and Wednesday showed that there was a technical malfunction when a salvo of rockets was fired on Tuesday afternoon," the Israeli Maariv newspaper reported.
The interception rate of the Iron Dome was at 90%, Israeli occupation forces spokesperson Daniel Hagari claimed.
Israeli KAN public broadcaster military affairs correspondent Itay Blumental reported that the technical error resulted in the air defense system not being able to intercept two rockets. Around 30 rockets were fired from Gaza, and two of them landed in the industrial area of "Sderot", injuring three Chinese workers.
After finding out about a technical error in the air defense system, the Israeli occupation forces rushed to immediately fix the issue, the journalist said.
Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported Wednesday that the system's success rate in intercepting recent missile salvos was at 67%, "which is a low number compared to its capabilities in the recent rounds of escalation."
22 rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip toward the nearby Israeli settlements, 16 of which fell in open areas, and Iron Dome intercepted 4 of them. Meanwhile, two rockets exploded inside a populated area, which indicates a decline in the system's performance, YNet said.
The Palestinian Resistance in the Gaza Strip launched several salvoes of rockets toward the Israeli settlements and military sites, with the Israeli occupation's Iron Dome attempting to intercept them, an Al Mayadeen correspondent reported on Tuesday.
The correspondent added that early warning systems were heard in the settlements, with salvoes of rockets getting fired from the Gaza Strip as part of the resistance's response to Adnan's assassination.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent also reported that Israeli warplanes targeted a resistance site West of Gaza City, while also bombing the vicinity of a government site northwest of Gaza City.
This comes after the former head of the Israeli occupation forces Military Intelligence Directorate (Aman), Amos Yadlin said last month that Israeli deterrence has been somewhat damaged, echoing statements made by numerous Israeli officials during Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's latest reign as premier.
The Israeli occupation's military Intelligence Directorate's Research Division warned that over the past several months, "Israel" has seen its overall strategic situation worsen, Israel Hayom exclusively reported earlier in the month.
According to the newspaper, the warning was sent in a recent memo to the top brass and the key decision-makers in the Israeli occupation, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Security Minister Yoav Gallant.
