Sheikh Hussein Atwi killed in Israeli strike on Bawarta area
Sheikh Atwi had previously survived an Israeli assassination attempt in January 2024, which took place on the road to Kawkaba, a town in southern Lebanon.
The latest strike marks a continuation of targeted aggression by Israeli forces against figures associated with Palestinian and Lebanese Resistance groups, in violation of the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon.
This airstrike comes amid ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon. Two days prior, another Israeli drone strike targeted a car on the outskirts of Kawthriyat al-Siyad, resulting in one martyr and two injuries.

Additionally, a separate Israeli attack claimed the life of another individual when two missiles struck the al-Deir neighborhood in the town of Houla, South Lebanon.
The escalation in airstrikes highlights the continued violence inflicted by "Israel" in Lebanon.
