The Islamic Radio and Television Union (IRTVU) organized Wednesday a meeting to showcase solidarity with the journalists who fell victim to the Israeli occupation's aggression during Operation al-Aqsa Flood.

Union chair Sheikh Ali Karimian credited the Palestinian people's patience with the Resistance's strategic victory against the Israeli occupation.

"The narrative of the Resistance is the most important one, and the Israeli narrative has reached a dead-end, and the clearest evidence of this is that Israel is attacking the Resistance's media crews," he added.

The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate announced on Friday that the number of media personnel and journalists martyred due to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7 has risen to 67.

This comes after the martyrdom "of our three colleagues, Dr. Adham Hassouna, a journalist media professor at Gaza and Al-Aqsa universities, press photographer Abdullah Darwish, and reporting photographer Montaser Al-Sawaf," the syndicate said.

Head of the Freedoms Committee at the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, Mohammad al-Laham, explained that "the difficulty of monitoring and documenting remains a significant obstacle due to the ongoing and intense nature of the Israeli aggression."

The occupation forces have targeted numerous correspondents and journalists in both Gaza and Lebanon during the ongoing Israeli aggression on the two fronts.

In late November, an Israeli-targeted drone strike in southern Lebanon led to the martyrdom of Al Mayadeen's reporter Farah Omar and cameraman Rabih Me'mari, along with freelancer Hussein Akil.

Additionally, on October 13, Israeli occupation forces directly targeted a group of journalists in the vicinity of the town of Alma al-Shaab, while they were covering the situation on the border between Lebanon and occupied Palestine, resulting in the martyrdom of Reuters photographer Issam Abdallah and the injury of several others.

On November 21, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in southern Lebanon, Farah Omar, alongside photojournalist Rabih Me'mari, were martyred by an Israeli drone that deliberately targeted them.

Al Mayadeen journalism that of Resistance

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Mayadeen Media Network, Ghassan Ben Jeddou, affirmed in a speech during the meeting that "our journalism now is the journalism of resistance, and it is strong."

Ben Jeddou underlined that "the narrative of resistance now is superior and steadfast on the global stage."

"The world that is rising up now is not necessarily doing so for the sake of Palestine and resistance but for the sake of humanity," he added.

Ben Jeddou revealed that efforts are underway to form a global alliance under the title "The Global Media Network for the Defense of Humanity."
