Number of journalists martyred in Gaza rose to 60
The death of Bilal Jadallah, who served as the chairman of the Press House institution, marks the 54th journalist who was martyred by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF).
Al Mayadeen's correspondent on Sunday reported the martyrdom of Palestinian journalist Bilal Jadallah in an Israeli airstrike today.
Martyr Bilal Jadallah served as the chairman of the Press House institution.
This comes after the martyr of six journalists who were killed in Gaza a day before. The Center for Defending and Freedom of Journalists has repeatedly condemned the systematic targeting of journalists since the start of the Israeli aggression.
"Saturday, November 18, proved to be the most bloody day, as the Israeli occupation killed 6 journalists and media workers," the center said in a statement, noting that it was a "black day that can never be forgotten in the history of journalism."
The center emphasized that the Israeli occupation forces are systematically targeting Palestinian journalists, spreading rumors and accusations against them that put their lives at risk. It further noted the martyrdom of 53 journalists and media workers since the start of the genocide in Gaza, according to the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate.
Today, that number has increased to 60 after the martyrdom of Jadallah.

The CPJ added that examining the historical trends of journalists killed globally in recent years, the center projected that Gaza, despite being small in size, would witness the highest number of journalist martyrs in the span of no more than 43 days.
The Center called for urgent action to be taken in order to provide the required protection for journalists and to hold the regime accountable for the deaths of journalists.
The Israeli regime is continuing to carry out its genocidal campaign on the civilian population of Gaza, targeting residential complexes, UN shelters, and hospitals indiscriminately.
The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate issued a statement warning of the perilous situation faced by approximately 20 journalists in the Indonesian hospital in northern Gaza.
Parts of the hospital are under continuous bombardment, posing a threat to the lives of the journalists, medical staff, wounded individuals, patients, and displaced persons present there.
International institutions, especially the Red Cross, were called upon to urgently intervene to save them.
In the latest count by the government media office, the number of martyrs exceeded 12,300, including more than 5,000 children and 3,300 women. The number of injuries exceeded 30,000, with over 75% of them being children and women.
