Continuing in their resistance against the Israeli occupation and in solidarity with the people in Palestine and Lebanon, and in response to "the massacres committed by the usurping entity against civilians, including children, women, and the elderly," the fighters of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, on Sunday evening, targeted a vital site in the southern occupied territories using drone strikes.

On the same day, but in a separate statement announcing a second operation, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq also struck a military target in the southern occupied territories with loitering munitions.

In turn, the Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein revealed on Friday that "Israel" has made clear threats against Iraq.

In his speech at the fifth Middle East Peace and Security Forum (MEPS 2024), hosted by the American University in Duhok, he emphasized that "the Iraqi government does not seek war and works to avoid it through well-considered policies."

Hussein explained that Iraq is concerned about the regional situation, confirming that "the government has taken internal and external steps to confront Israeli threats."

The Iraqi News Agency quoted Hussein as saying, "Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia Al-Sudani directed the armed forces to take strict measures against any parties using Iraqi territory to launch attacks, while the government continues its diplomatic efforts with influential Western capitals to de-escalate tensions on Iraq."
