'Israel' walks out of UNSC Palestine session ironically citing 'bias'
Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Gilad Erdan said the UN Security Council was "extremely biased", completely disregarding Israeli massacres against Palestinian since 1948.
Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Gilad Erdan announced that "Israel will not take part" in the UN Security Council session regarding the Palestinian issue, alleging "extreme bias" at a time when "Israel" continues its systematic genocide of the Palestinian people.
Before he left the room, Erdan claimed, “If this council refuses to respect their [fallen soldiers] memory, I will dedicate this speech to their memory. I light this candle, Mr. President, to honor them, and may their memory be blessed. I'm sorry, but I refuse to spend this sacred day listening to lies and condemnation. This debate disgraces the fallen, and Israel will not take part in it.”
As the number of Palestinians martyred by IOF bullets, since the beginning of 2023, has exceeded 95, and as "Israel" threatened a second Nakba through the expansion of settlement projects condemned by the international community, Erdan claimed the council demonstrated an “extreme bias against Israel” and singled it out.

However, Erdan made no mention that "Israel" continued to be an occupation entity built on the genocide and forced expulsion of Palestinians.
When asked about what he anticipated regarding the upcoming meeting set to be held between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Palestinian counterpart Riyad Al-Maliki, Erdan stated that since the meeting will not be centered around an allegedly nuclear Iran, "Israel" had no interest in the outcome.
US, EU circumventing fair Palestinian resolution: Lavrov
In the same context, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during a meeting of the UN Security Council discussing Palestine on Monday accused the United States and the European Union of standing in the way of real peace in the Middle East with their "destructive measures" and sidelining the resolution of the Palestinian issue in favor of pushing for an Arab-Israeli normalization.
"The United States and the European Union continue [with their] destructive attempts to replace real peace with some economic half-measures, and to advance Arab Israeli normalization in circumvention of the fair resolution of the Palestinian issue and in circumvention of the Arab Peace Initiative. The Middle East quartet of international mediators has fallen victim to that. Washington is now claiming the role of a single sponsor of the Middle East settlement process," Lavrov said.
Additionally, Lavrov argued that “the Middle East is undergoing a deep transformation, which is evolving in a very contradictory way. More than ever before we need to improve relations among states in the region, stabilize in areas of conflict and improve efforts politically and diplomatically to resolve them."
In February, Russian envoy to the UN Dmitry Polyansky slammed the US for vetoing any resolution in favor of Palestinians at the UN Security Council.
The diplomat explained then that any just resolutions in favor of Palestine would harm the Arab-Israeli normalization initiative promoted by the US.
