Israeli airstrike targets Aleppo International Airport
Al Mayadeen’s correspondent reports an aerial bombardment that targeted Aleppo International Airport, damaging the runway.
The Aleppo International Airport’s runway was targeted by an Israeli airstrike, an Al Mayadeen correspondent reported Saturday.
Israeli warplanes launched two missiles on the airport, damaging the runway.
Earlier, on October 12, our correspondent in Damascus reported that Syrian air defenses intercepted attacks on the airports in Damascus and Aleppo, whose runways were damaged by the Israeli aggression.
Shortly afterward, the Syrian Ministry of Defense issued a statement condemning the Israeli aggression.
"The aggression damaged the runways at Damascus and Aleppo airports and took them out of service," the statement read.
"This is a desperate attempt by the criminal Zionist enemy to divert attention from its crimes in Gaza."
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates also said on Thursday that the Israeli aggression that targeted the Damascus and Aleppo international airports comes within the context of the continuation of the Israeli authorities and their supporters in their policies founded on aggression and occupation.
In a statement, the Ministry added that the Israeli aggression falls within the context of the occupying entity's attempts to export its crises and divert attention from the war crimes and crimes against humanity it is committing against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
