Israeli blockade of Northern Gaza violates international law: UN
The United Nations has voiced serious concerns over the Israeli blockade of northern Gaza, pointing out that it violates international law.
The United Nations has raised serious concerns about the Israeli blockade of northern Gaza, emphasizing that it violates international law.
During a press briefing on Thursday, UN Deputy Spokesperson Farhan Haq highlighted the extensive destruction caused by the ongoing Israeli assault, stating, “The enormous devastation caused by the blockade in northern Gaza illustrates that the war is being waged without respect for international law. Families are trapped in their locations, unable to move.”
Haq noted that between 50,000 to 70,000 people currently remain in Jabalia, while approximately 63,000 individuals have been displaced from northern areas to the central Gaza Strip.
When asked about the UN's message to residents of northern Gaza, Haq replied, “We continue to work for them. We are striving to ensure that the world hears them and sees their needs.”
He also mentioned that UN staff are attempting to carry out their responsibilities in Gaza under extremely challenging conditions.

Extermination, genocide in North Gaza
A thousand Palestinians were killed over the past 20 days during "Israel's" ongoing and unrelenting siege and extermination of north Gaza, according to Al Mayadeen's correspondent.
Just today, the Israeli occupation committed a massacre by bombarding civilian homes in Beit Lahia, killing 20 civilians and injuring several more.
The Israeli occupation forces reportedly stormed Kamal Adwan Hospital despite its protection through international charters and promises from international delegations that they would not storm it. The IOF then rounded up all those on hospital grounds, including medical staff and injured patients, separating the men from the women and children and forcing the latter two to march toward the Indonesian Hospital.
Additionally, the IOF bombed the main oxygen station in Kamal Adwan, resulting in severe damage and putting it out of service, which only exacerbates the already deteriorating health of patients.
Genocide in north Gaza worse than what 'Israel' did all year: Factions
As northern Gaza continues to be bombarded by air, land, and sea, destroying homes and residential areas, Israeli occupation forces are imposing a suffocating siege on residents and hospitals. In response, Palestinian Resistance factions are vocally denouncing Israeli crimes and those who support them.
The Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) movement issued a statement last Sunday slamming the new level of criminality the Israeli occupation is committing in north Gaza, which was spawned as the Israeli government revealed the so-called "Generals' Plan", aiming to eliminate any aspect of life in the north.
The occupation is besieging 400,000 Palestinians in northern Gaza, the PIJ added, stressing that it was also deliberately bombarding hospitals and murdering people in the streets and their tents.
"The scale of genocide being carried out in northern Gaza, in full view of the world, is many times greater than the massacres and crimes against humanity that the enemy committed in an entire year," the statement read, noting that the enemy is executing a policy of collective punishment against civilians who remain committed to their land and refuse to be displaced in "abhorrent and Nazi-like policies."
The PIJ said it holds the United States fully responsible for these crimes, citing its provision of weapons of mass destruction and military and political impunity that enabled the occupation to commit its acts without restraint.
