Israeli occupation forces demolished the home of Palestinian prisoner Ahmad Al-Haimouni at dawn Monday in the southern West Bank city of al-Khalil, as part of a broader campaign of military escalation targeting Palestinian communities across the occupied territory.
According to Palestinian sources, the Israeli military claims Al-Haimouni was involved in funding an operation in Tel Aviv last year that led to the killing of seven Israeli settlers. The demolition was carried out under "Israel’s" policy of punitive home demolitions, a practice widely condemned by human rights organizations as collective punishment in violation of international law.
Video footage shared on local media shows the use of explosives to raze the multi-story building, with large plumes of smoke rising above the surrounding neighborhood. The explosion reportedly caused structural damage to nearby homes, sparking fear among residents.

Raids Across the West Bank
In a related development, Israeli forces carried out coordinated raids early Monday in several parts of the West Bank. Local sources confirmed that troops stormed Deir Jarir, north of Ramallah, and conducted a raid in central Tulkarm, as part of a pattern of pre-dawn military operations.
These actions follow a weekend of escalating violence and repression, during which Israeli forces killed Mohammed Ali Youssef Shatiyah, 37, near Beit Ur al-Fawqa, west of Ramallah, and shot 12 Palestinian workers with live ammunition near the separation wall in Beit Lahm. Over the past week, troops have also raided Nablus, Qalqilya, Beit Ummar, and al-Arroub camp, detaining dozens and sealing town entrances.
The Israeli military has intensified nightly raids, mass arrests, and land seizures, particularly targeting areas around al-Khalil, Ramallah, and Jenin. Human rights organizations warn that these actions form part of a systematic policy of displacement, intimidation, and control, with settlers simultaneously expanding illegal outposts and attacking Palestinian property.
A Broader Context of Annexation
The demolition in al-Khalil comes amid Israeli approval of new settlement expansions, such as the seizure of 35 dunams of land from Kafr Qaddum to build 58 new illegal housing units, and new entry restrictions imposed on Palestinian farmers attempting to reach their own lands in villages like Rantis, west of Ramallah.
Meanwhile, closures at key junctions, including the iron gate at Attara and the sealed entrances to Al-Araqa, have disrupted daily life, education, and medical access for thousands.
The cumulative impact of demolitions, raids, shootings, and land grabs has deepened the humanitarian crisis in the West Bank, prompting renewed calls from Palestinian officials and international rights groups for an end to a policy of de facto annexation under the guise of security operations.
