Israeli gov. opposes 'unilateral recognition' of Palestinian State
The Israeli occupation government has made claims about unanimously rejecting unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state completely disregarding its settler colonial history.
The Israeli cabinet issued a statement on Sunday, firmly rejecting the "unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state by the international community."
This "declarative" decision by the very cabinet currently launching a genocidal war across occupied Palestine was announced during the occupation's weekly cabinet meeting, whereby they maintained that any decision regarding a Palestinian state must arise from direct negotiations between "Israel" and Palestine.
These Israeli occupation statements come in direct contradiction with history, wherein "Israel" was established by occupying Palestinian territories in 1948 under the British Balfour Declaration, as well as massacres and plunder.
Notably, the Israeli occupation's delusory statement did not outright dismiss the concept of a future Palestinian state, existing as part of a "two-state solution". However, the Israeli occupation rejected the recognition of a Palestinian state by other states, as the process of state recognition typically unfolds.
By so doing, "Israel", a settler colonial entity, claims that only it can give a Palestinian state the right to be recognized before anyone else.
Significantly, the Israeli occupation's decision proposal was put forward in coordination with Israeli opposition leader Benny Gantz, whose participation in this cabinet meeting marked his first participation in a meeting this entire month of February.
During the opening of the cabinet meeting, Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his concerns about recent international discourse attempting to impose unilateral recognition on "Israel" regarding a Palestinian state, which, as of this moment, remains occupied by "Israel". Netanyahu, in his statement, noted that "Israel" would continue to oppose one-sided recognition and emphasized the need for any such recognition to result from direct negotiations between the concerned parties.
"Such an arrangement [recognition of a Palestinian State] will be reached only through direct negotiations between the parties, without preconditions. Israel will continue to oppose unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state. Such recognition, following the October 7 massacre, will give a huge reward to terrorism, a reward like no other, and will prevent any future peace settlement," the Israeli occupation Prime Minister said.
It is worth noting that the Palestinian State, according to all countries that have refused to normalize ties with the Israeli occupation, remains occupied as most of these countries do not recognize "Israel" as a "state". Some of these countries include Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq, and Iran, among others.
Top Israeli ministers reject Palestinian statehood post-war
Earlier in the month, some of "Israel's" top ministers expressed their outrage over a news article published in The Washington Post, which claimed that "Israel's" major ally, the United States, was pushing preparations to establish a Palestinian state.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich stated that in "no way" would the occupying forces agree to the statehood, which, according to him, "says Palestinians deserve a prize for the terrible massacre they carried out against us."
The Palestinians Smotrich is referring to are the 28,663 men, women, and children killed at the hands of Israeli occupation forces.
He called a Palestinian state an "existential threat" to the Israeli occupation.
Smotrich in late January made similar remarks, telling the US to "wise up" about any chance of a Palestinian state.
