Israeli Media: Battle of Marib is a Turning Point in The War
The Jerusalem Post discusses the importance of the battle of Marib for both Iran and Saudi Arabia and describes the battle as decisive.
The Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia are looking closely at the battle of Marib in Yemen as it comes to a turning and decisive point, according to an article published in The Jerusalem Post Israeli website.
Saudi Arabia and its allies could be witnessing a loss in the battle of Marib, as the UAE, which has been part of the coalition that participated in the war on Yemen, has gradually downsized its role in the area.
If the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement successfully manages to take control of the province, which is located several hundred kilometers away from the border with the Kingdom, it could mean a "symbolic defeat" for the Saudis, mentions the newspaper.
Ansar Allah announced the liberation of an area of 1,100 square kilometers
This comes after a spokesperson for the movement announced that the Yemeni Armed Forces have carried out successful operations in the provinces of Marib, Shabwa, and al-Bayda, and liberated an area of 1,100 square kilometers in the second phase of its Victory Spring (Rabi al-Nasr) liberation operation, according to a report published by the Tasnim Iranian news agency.
The spokesperson said the movement successfully liberated most areas of Marib and defended the Yemeni airspace from the Saudi coalition aircraft through operations led by drones.
According to The Jerusalem Post, Iran has transferred drones to Yemen, that might be capable of targeting "Israel" and oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman. "Israel" and the US have accused Iran of attacking a tanker in July.
Ansar Allah fighting against Washington and Tel Aviv
Yemeni Ansar Allah movement considers it is fighting against the “aggressors and occupiers and mercenaries of Washington and Tel Aviv,” the report comments.
The movement warned Saudi-backed Hadi's Government forces, headed by President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, to stop fighting, as the war on Yemen "is a complete defeat for the aggressors,” and described the Saudi intervention as "criminal and barbaric,” the newspaper said.
The Jerusalem Post pointed out that Saudi Arabia and its Gulf allies were angered by the Lebanese Minister of Information George Kordahi who described the war on Yemen as "futile."
The Gulf states summoned their ambassadors and expelled Lebanon's envoys on its land.
The report on the Jerusalem Post concludes that "Israel" and Saudi Arabia share the same security concerns about the "regional agenda of Iranian threats stretching thousands of kilometers from Yemen via the Gulf of Oman to Kuwait, and through Iraq and Albukamal, and then through Syria to Lebanon."
