The decision comes after Gantz held a situation assessment over the phone with several senior security officials
The Israeli occupation's Security Minister, Benny Gantz, decided Saturday not to extend the imposed curfew on the West Bank and the Gaza Strip during the Jewish "Passover" holiday, Haaretz reported.
"The curfew had been imposed Friday from 4 P.M. for the length of the first day of Passover, and is set to expire at midnight on Saturday," the newspaper website noted.
The decision comes after Gantz held a situation assessment over the phone with several senior security officials, where it was decided that the curfew would not continue, Haaretz indicated.
According to the website, the Israeli occupation's Security Ministry said the officials discussed the continued deployment of Israeli occupation forces near the separation wall and several locations in the West Bank throughout the "Passover" holiday.
IOF imposes closure on West Bank during Jewish holidays
It is noteworthy that during Jewish holidays, the Israeli occupation imposes closures on the West Bank, where Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza are not permitted to enter occupied Palestinian territory.
Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, Makan said that this decision means lifting the security cordon off the West Bank and reopening the crossings with the Gaza Strip at midnight on Saturday.
Last week, the Israeli occupation forces raided Al-Aqsa Mosque and tried to completely evacuate it, which led to confrontations with the Palestinians stationed in it, injuring more than 150.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent had earlier reported that around 50,000 Palestinians attended the Friday prayers in Al-Aqsa despite the Israeli assaults and mass arrest campaigns.
