Israeli media: PIJ sets a new deterrence equation vis-à-vis "Israel"
PIJ is setting a new deterrence equation vis-à-vis “Israel” after the Israeli occupation forces' arrest of the movement's official, Bassam Al-Saadi, as per Israeli media.
Israeli media reported that the Gaza division in the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) believes that the coming hours are decisive, emphasizing its readiness will continue until early next week.
Earlier, the IOF prohibited Gaza Division troops from taking leave, as movement restrictions in southern Israeli settlements may be extended for several days, as per Israeli media.
The Israeli media has also mentioned that Prime Minister Yair Lapid conducted a security assessment at the Kirya area in “Tel Aviv”.
The discussion was centered on the security situation in the southern region and potential scenarios.
On its account, Haaretz said that PIJ wants to create a new deterrence equation vis-à-vis “Israel” after the Israeli occupation forces' arrest of the movement's official, Bassam Al-Saadi.
“Intel suggests PIJ intent on avenging arrest of its West Bank leader and that the chances of another round of fighting are growing,” the media outlet added.
The media outlet highlighted that the residents of the settlements adjacent to the border fence in the Gaza envelope are particularly vulnerable to anti-tank missile fire and sniping operations.
Israel Hayom reported that “Israel” recognize the true threat posed by the PIJ movement, indicating that security and military institutions anticipate "several possible scenarios, most notably missile launches.
The Israeli newspaper added that residents of Gaza border settlements were enraged Friday as they faced road closures and restrictions for the fourth day in a row, as “Israel” remained on high alert for a possible attack along the Strip's border.
On his part, Tzipi Yehezkeli, Arab affairs analyst at Channel 13, considered that the PIJ has won this round, doubting that the measures taken against the Islamic Jihad by interrupting the daily routine inside the occupied territories will do any good.
