Israeli occupation detains 55 West Bank Palestinians within hours
Israeli occupation forces continue to implement oppressive policies against Palestinians under occupation and have detained 7,400 Palestinians across the West Bank since the launch of Operation Al Aqsa Flood on October 7, 2023.
Israeli occupation forces have carried out a wide-ranging detention campaign, detaining at least 55 Palestinians across the occupied West Bank, including children, and formerly freed prisoners.
The detentions were concentrated in al-Khalil Governorate, where at least 22 Palestinians were detained, including formerly liberated prisoners who had spent years in Israeli occupation prisons and engaged in long and repeated individual hunger strikes lasting more than 140 days for some.
The rest of the detained were distributed among the governorates of Tubas, Beit Lahm, Qalqilya, al-Quds, and Ramallah, specifically in the al-Amari refugee camp, which witnessed wide-scale invasions, and abuse of detainees. Additionally, Israeli occupation forces, throughout their incursions, have conducted multiple field interrogations of dozens of Palestinians and have also operated a policy of shoot-to-kill throughout the raids.
With the martyrdom of Mustafa Abu Shalbak, who had succumbed to his injuries after the Israeli occupation shot him during their invasion of his hometown, the number of post-October 7 detainees has risen to approximately 7,400, including those detained from within their homes, at military checkpoints, as well as those forced to surrender under pressure.
It is worth noting that the occupation continues to carry out detention campaigns across the West Bank, accompanied by unprecedented abuse and systematic torture of detainees and their families, not sparing even the sick, injured, and elderly during these detention campaigns.
IOF detain freed prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash, kill child
Al Mayadeen's correspondent in the occupied West Bank confirmed that a Palestinian was martyred by Israeli occupation forces' gunfire in the al-Amari camp.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the martyr as 16-year-old Mustafa Abu Shalbak and mentioned that he had been shot in the neck and chest.
Israeli occupation forces detained early Monday freed Palestinian prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash after storming his house in the town of Dura, south of al-Khalil in the occupied West Bank, local media reported.
Abu Hawash secured his freedom last year after going on a heroic 141-day hunger strike in protest against his arbitrary administrative detention in Israeli occupation prisons, which allows the indefinite imprisonment of Palestinians without trial or charge.
