Israeli media reported on Sunday that one soldier from the Israeli occupation forces was killed and at least nine others wounded, including three in critical condition, in what was described as a "security incident" in Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip.
Among the wounded were members of the Israeli occupation’s Desert Reconnaissance Unit. According to reports, three soldiers sustained life-threatening injuries, while four others were said to be in serious condition.
The Israeli military confirmed that a senior officer and another soldier from the reconnaissance unit were severely injured during the operation in southern Gaza.
Resistance forces detonate explosive device on armored vehicle
This incident follows an earlier announcement by the Israeli occupation military regarding the deaths of two personnel on Saturday, a combat engineer and a soldier from the elite Golani Brigade, also during operations in southern Gaza.
According to Yedioth Ahronoth, the fatalities occurred after Palestinian resistance fighters, reportedly affiliated with Hamas, attached an explosive device to a Namer armored personnel carrier in Khan Younis, leading to a fire that led to the soldiers’ deaths.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent in the Gaza Strip reported on Sunday that the Israeli occupation forces announced a "tactical suspension" of military actions in certain areas of the Gaza Strip. The move, described as "temporary and tactical", will last for 10 hours, starting at 10:00 am and ending at 8:00 pm (local time).
Our correspondent stated, "Trucks loaded with flour are heading from the Rafah crossing to the Karem Abu Salem crossing, hoping to enter the Gaza Strip."
Marked areas for withdrawal
The IOF's spokesperson explained that military actions would be paused in specific areas, namely al-Mawasi, Deir al-Balah, and parts of Gaza City. These areas were marked in white on operational maps distributed by the Israeli military.
