Israelis war criminals, child killers, Venezuelan FM says
Venezuela's foreign minister, asserting his support for Palestine, says that the Israeli occupation is a genocidal regime ruled by war criminals.
The Israeli regime is fascist, criminal, and child-killing, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil said Thursday, as he condemned the Israeli occupation following its criticism of an arrest warrant issued for Edmundo González, the Western-backed candidate who lost Venezuela's recent presidential election.
In reference to the ongoing onslaught on Gaza, in which "Israel" has killed over 41,000 Palestinians so far, Gil labeled the Israeli occupation as the perpetrator of "the largest genocide since World War II," calling its leaders "war criminals, child murderers, and international criminals" who support "fascist criminals" in Venezuela.
He further accused Zionists of backing Venezuela's far-right, claiming they fund and train violent practices. "We will defeat them; they will not return," he declared.
"Zionism in Venezuela will not succeed. We are humanitarians and detest its hatred and depravity," he underlined.
Gil also lambasted Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa, who recently made anti-Venezuelan remarks. Gil criticized Noboa for daring to attack Venezuela while his own country suffered from crime, chaos, and ineffective governance. He dismissed Noboa's request to the UN Security Council as baseless and meaningless.
"Noboa poses a real threat to regional stability and should be the one facing the Security Council," said Gil. He emphasized that Ecuador, under Noboa's leadership, endangers its neighbors and serves foreign interests.
The Venezuelan foreign minister concluded by asserting that while Ecuador crumbles under "catastrophic leadership," it attempts to deflect attention by targeting Venezuela. He reminded Noboa that "the Venezuelan people rule here, not foreign puppets. Venezuela respects itself!"
Repeated stance with Gaza
Caracas has long voiced its support for Gaza, especially in light of the ongoing genocide. The Venezuelan Foreign Ministry condemned in February "the actions taken by the Government of Israel within the framework of the expansion of the military offensive in the Gaza Strip toward Rafah, in the far south."
The statement added that this "Israeli Zionist plan aims to continue implementing its criminal and expansionist policy in this area that is home to more than one million four hundred thousand displaced Palestinians."
"We warn that these cruel and inhumane actions contribute to worsening the consequences and deteriorating conditions experienced by the people in the Gaza Strip and prevent access to essential humanitarian aid for survival."
Moreover, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro stated that same month that the unfolding events in Gaza revealed the true face of international organizations, showing that they serve global imperialist powers. Expressing his deep concern, Maduro pointed to the killing of thousands of people and the deliberate destruction of hospitals in the Gaza Strip, which comes, according to him, at a historical moment when the International Court of Justice has done nothing to protect the right of the Palestinian people to life.
Maduro stressed the need for the international community to condemn the acts of genocide committed by the Israeli occupation in Palestine. The president reiterated his country's demands for an end to the genocide committed by "Israel" against the Palestinian people underscoring the imperative for the ICJ's intervention to enforce this cessation.
