Following the execution of the ringleader of the Harkat Al-Nazal terrorist group, Habib Farajollah Chaab, also known as Habib Asyud, European governments made interventionist remarks which Nasser Kanaani, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, denounced.

The execution took place on Saturday after Chaab admitted to planning several terrorist acts, including the attack on a military parade back in 2018 that killed 25 people.

Following European commentary, Kanaani said, "It is very regrettable that some European governments support terrorists who have targeted the lives of innocent people and have confessed to their crimes openly while bragging about it, but they [the European states] support them in an unjustifiable action."

Moreover, Kanaani argued that the EU states, in defending the terrorist, stand against the most basic human rights values.

"Habib Farajullah Chaab, known as Habib Asyud, was the leader of a terrorist group and responsible for planning and carrying out numerous criminal operations, such as the cowardly terrorist attack in the city of Ahvaz on 22 September 2018, which led to the martyrdom and injury of a number of innocent citizens, including women, and children," Kanaani explained.

Standing in defense of a terrorist, the like of Chaab, is an attempt to prevent the implementation of justice, said Kanaani, and further, it constitutes an instigation and a show of support for acts of terrorism across the world. And in that regard, "The Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to fight terrorism and exercise justice against terrorists and will not compromise on the rights of the Iranian nation and their security."

In conclusion, the spokesperson stated that "if the Europeans who claim to be human rights defenders are not willing to tackle terrorism in its various forms seriously, at least, they should not hurt the feelings of the families of terrorism victims with their support for the terrorists."

Sweden-backed orchestrator of Ahvaz terrorist attack executed

Iranian media reported that the death sentence against Habib Farajollah Chaab, also known as Habib Asyud, the ringleader of the Harkat Al-Nazal terrorist group, was carried out on Saturday morning.

On March 12, Iran’s Judiciary affirmed the death sentence “on charges of corruption on earth through the formation, management, and leadership of a rebel group called Harkat Al-Nazal and the design and execution of numerous terrorist operations in Khuzestan province.”

He admitted to planning several terrorist acts including the attack on a military parade back in 2018 that killed 25 people.

Chaab acknowledged receiving Swedish citizenship and government support and admitted receiving a gadget that would alert Swedish security personnel to his whereabouts whenever he was in danger, as per Iranian media.

He was arrested in 2020 by Iranian security forces.
