Salam: We appreciate Egypt’s steadfast support for Lebanon
During the meeting, Prime Minister Salam expressed Lebanon’s appreciation for “Egypt’s leading role, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, in supporting regional stability, defending Arab causes, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, and promoting peaceful solutions to conflicts while strengthening joint Arab action.”
He also recalled “Egypt’s fraternal stances in support of Lebanon, politically and diplomatically, during its most difficult economic and social circumstances, and its backing in international and Arab forums.” Salam affirmed that “Lebanon will not forget that support,” stressing that “Lebanese-Egyptian relations are not the product of a passing moment, but rather a long history of intellectual, cultural, and human interaction.”
Madbouly to visit Beirut next month
For his part, Egyptian Prime Minister Madbouly affirmed that Egypt supports all efforts undertaken by the Lebanese government to maintain the country’s security and stability. He said Egypt condemns "Israel’s" repeated attacks on southern Lebanon and called on the Israeli army to withdraw from the five points as a prelude to reconstruction.
Madbouly expressed satisfaction with the memoranda of understanding signed with Lebanon, emphasizing the importance of implementing them, particularly in trade and investment, and encouraging Egyptian companies to participate in the upcoming investment conference scheduled to take place in Beirut.
He also announced plans to visit Beirut next month, accompanied by several ministers, to continue strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Earlier, "Israel’s" public broadcaster KAN 11 reported that Cairo had launched an intensive diplomatic initiative amid escalating tensions on the Lebanese–Israeli front. The effort aims to “introduce a new approach that prevents the region from sliding into a full-scale confrontation” and “strikes a balance between security, politics, and regional interests.”
