Lebanon files complaint to UNSC over attack on south suburb of Beirut
Lebanon's Permanent Mission to the United Nations files a complaint to the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary-General against "Israel's" recent aggression on the southern suburbs of Beirut.
The Permanent Mission of Lebanon in New York lodged a formal complaint on Thursday with the United Nations Security Council and Secretary-General, condemning the recent Israeli aggression on the southern suburb of Beirut. This action was taken under the directive of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Abdallah Bou Habib.
In the complaint, Lebanon emphasized that the attack represents a dangerous escalation, targeting a densely populated residential area. This act is a clear and blatant violation of Lebanon's sovereignty and the safety of its lands and citizens, as well as all United Nations resolutions, including Resolution 1701, which demands that "Israel" cease its violations of Lebanese sovereignty.
Additionally, Beirut noted that the attack contravened international and humanitarian laws, along with the United Nations Charter. It recalled that it had repeatedly warned of "Israel's" intentions to escalate and launch attacks on Lebanon, which would drag the entire region into an open war with dire consequences.
Lebanon highlighted that the aggression on the southern suburb of Beirut, along with the subsequent attack on Tehran, serves as further evidence of "Israel's" escalatory intentions.
This comes at a time when international mediators are striving to secure a ceasefire and prevent the expansion of the war.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that the aggression on the Southern Suburb of #Beirut resulted in the martyrdom of a woman and two children and the injury of seventy-four people in a preliminary toll.

Lebanon reiterated its rejection of war and affirmed its full commitment to all provisions of Resolution 1701. The country called on the Security Council to unequivocally condemn the Israeli aggression, demand that "Israel" halt its escalation and attacks on Lebanon’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and people, and respect the relevant Security Council resolutions.
Earlier, the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs filed a complaint with the United Nations Security Council and the Secretary-General of the United Nations through its permanent mission in New York over the Israeli occupation's repeat violations of Lebanon's cyberspace.
The complaint calls on Security Council member states to condemn the Israeli cyber attacks on Lebanon, which pose a serious threat to civil aviation services and endanger the security and safety of communication networks, devices, applications, and electronic data in vital Lebanese facilities.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also requested its permanent mission in Geneva to file a complaint with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The complaint urges the ITU to take the necessary technical measures to stop these attacks and assist Lebanon in ensuring the proper functioning of its communication networks.
