Lebanon today commemorates the martyrdom of its Resistance leaders and the Ummah's martyrs, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, one year after their passing on September 27 and October 3, 2024.
Tens of thousands of people have taken to the streets to honor their memories, while officials issued statements and attended ceremonies held in tribute to their sacrifices and souls.

In Beirut's southern suburb, Lebanon's south, and the Bekaa region, several events were organized, allowing people to pay their respects at several locations across the country, namely Sayyed Nasrallah's shrine in Beirut, Sayyed Hashem's shrine in his southern village of Deir Qanoun, and Sayyed Abbas al-Mousawi's shrine in the town of Nabi Sheet near Baalbeck.
Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc member of parliament Ibrahim al-Mousawi spoke to Al Mayadeen from Nabi Sheet, stressing that the popular crowds that gathered today "embody the definition of: Loyalty to the Resistance's martyrs," further highlighting that the region's peoples are experiencing an extremely defining, historic, and existential shift.
President Joseph Aoun called for this anniversary to be an opportunity to affirm that "the sacrifices can only be protected through unity and everyone rallying around the project of a single, strong, and just state."
He also said the dangers facing Lebanon cannot be countered unless national unity is achieved and internal divisions are resolved. He expressed hope that “this painful anniversary will be a point of convergence and will reinforce the belief that Lebanon's salvation lies only in a single state, a single army, and constitutional institutions that protect sovereignty and preserve dignity.”
