The French President, Emmanuel Macron, condemned "Israel's" airstrike on Lebanon on Friday, during a joint press briefing with the Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.
Macron called the airstrike, which targeted a residential building in the southern Suburb of Beirut, "unacceptable", emphasizing that it constituted a violation of the ceasefire agreement that France sponsored.
He stated, "There is no activity that justifies such strikes," adding that "It is an absolute necessity that the framework that we defined, and that was agreed to by Lebanon and Israel, is duly respected. Today it was unilaterally not respected by Israel."
The French president highlighted that "Israel" did not provide any information or evidence of any action that could justify the strike, adding that he would discuss the attack with the US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "in the coming hours."
Meanwhile, the Lebanese president denounced "Israel's" actions, saying, "We condemn any attack on Lebanon and any suspicious attempt to drag Lebanon back into the cycle of violence," calling on "Lebanon's friends to move fast to prevent the situation from worsening and aiding Lebanon in applying international agreements.
'Israel' strikes Beirut
After three Israeli drone strikes on March 28, Israeli occupation forces bombed and leveled a building they had previously threatened in Hadath, located in the southern suburb of Beirut.
The building that was destroyed in Beirut is situated next to two schools, as the bombs were dropped during a school day in a usually crowded area, during rush hour in the holy month of Ramadan.
Simultaneously, the occupation launched a wave of heavy airstrikes across south Lebanon.
This follows the Israeli military spokesperson's claim earlier on the same day that two rockets were launched towards norther occupied territories, one of which was intercepted while the other fell on Lebanese soil.
Security Minister Israel Katz, addressing the incident, compared Lebanon's capital, Beirut, to Kiryat Shmona while issuing a warning against the city, stating that if calm is not maintained in Kiryat Shmona and the settlements of Galilee, then Beirut will not experience calm either.
Katz pinned the responsibility of every firing toward al-Jalil to the Lebanese government, saying, "We will not allow the return of the reality of October 7, we will guarantee the security of Galilee's residents, and we will work against every threat."
Meanwhile, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that Israeli shelling targeted the outskirts of Kfarsir and Qaaqaiyat al-Jisr.
In al-Khiam, Israeli shelling was reported, as well as phosphorus attacks in the village's eastern area.
A similar incident was reported on Saturday, whereby five rockets were launched from Lebanon toward northern Israeli-occupied Palestine. Hezbollah denied any involvement, affirming that the Israeli allegations came to allow the occupation's resumption of its attacks on Lebanon, which have not ceased since the announcement of the ceasefire in November 2024.
On Thursday, an Israeli drone attack killed two Lebanese citizens after targeting their vehicle in the town of Baraachit, southern Lebanon, according to the Ministry of Health.
This brings the total number of people killed by the Israeli army since the ceasefire in Lebanon to 106, with 300 others injured, as "Israel" continues to violate the ceasefire nearly every day, carrying out strikes and attacks across various parts of Lebanon.
More recently, three people were killed on Thursday morning in Yohmor al-Shaqif, southern Lebanon, when an Israeli drone targeted a car, coinciding with artillery shelling on the town, while at dawn, one person was killed in Maaroub, southern Lebanon, after an Israeli drone airstrike targeted his vehicle.
