Two people were martyred after an Israeli occupation drone targeting their vehicle in the town of Bara'achit, southern Lebanon, according to the Ministry of Health's announcement on Thursday.
This brings the total number of people killed by the Israeli army since the ceasefire in Lebanon to 106, with 300 others injured, as "Israel" continues to violate the ceasefire nearly every day, carrying out strikes and attacks across various parts of Lebanon.
More recently, three people were killed on Thursday morning in Yohmor al-Shaqif, southern Lebanon, when an Israeli drone targeted a car, coinciding with artillery shelling on the town, while at dawn, one person was killed in Marrouh, southern Lebanon, after an Israeli drone airstrike targeted his vehicle.
'Israel' continues to violate Lebanon ceasefire
Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that an Israeli drone violated the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon on Thursday morning, firing a missile at a car in Maroub, located in the Tyre district of South Lebanon, and according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, the strike resulted in the martyrdom of one civilian.
Earlier on March 24, a drone strike targeted a car in the southern Lebanese town of Qaqaiyat al-Jisr, killing one person.
Israeli occupation forces launched a series of airstrikes and shelled several towns in the region on March 22. These attacks resulted in the deaths and injuries of several civilians in southern Lebanon, while also targeting eastern Lebanon. Prior to these escalations, blatant Israeli violations had been ongoing, namely targeted and sporadic strikes that undermined Lebanese sovereignty. These violations included repeated incursions into Lebanese airspace and the occupation of points along the Lebanon-Palestine border.
Israeli authorities justified the intense bombing campaign on March 22 by pointing to the launching of five rockets toward the Metulla settlement, located on the border. Hezbollah denied responsibility for the rocket attack, while the Lebanese Army immediately discovered and seized three primitive wooden rocket launchers in the area north of the Litani River, near Arnoun, in the Nabatieh governorate.
A ceasefire agreement was originally put into effect on November 27, 2024, following a brutal Israeli aggression on Lebanon. Although the mediated agreement guaranteed full Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon by January 27 this year, the deadline for withdrawal was extended to February 18. Despite this, Israeli occupation forces continue to occupy several areas near Lebanese border towns and directly attack civilians and Army personnel in the region.
