The Venezuelan President expresses his support and solidarity with the Palestinian people in the face of ongoing Israeli aggression.
Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro confirmed that he had a phone conversation with the President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas over the past weekend.
Maduro said that during the conversation, he expressed his support and solidarity with the Palestinian people in the face of ongoing Israeli aggression.
In his weekly show, the Venezuelan President confirmed Venezuela's full and unconditional support for the Palestinian cause, the Palestinian people's right to independence and self-determination, as well as the existence of a Palestinian state.
He also expressed unwavering support for the agreements reached by the United Nations and the United Nations Security Council in this regard.
Maduro further proposed the urgent convening of an international conference by world powers to reach an agreement that benefits all nations, with the goal of ending violence and war.
A couple of days ago, Maduro announced Venezuela's commitment to provide 30 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Gaza. He also condemned what he called "indiscriminate attacks on the civilian population by Israel, causing thousands of deaths and injuries," which he said crossed "the line of respect for international humanitarian law."
The Venezuelan President had previously confirmed that his country is on the front line of solidarity with Palestine and stressed that "Bolivarianism cannot remain silent in the face of injustice," condemning the genocide carried out by "Israel" against the Palestinian people.
It is noteworthy that the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, witnessed demonstrations in solidarity with Gaza and in condemnation of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
