March 26 marked start of journey for a 'beloved Yemen': Al-Mashat
The President of the Supreme Political Council says Sanaa is committed to solidifying the principles its martyrs upheld and to reinforcing the values that forged resilience.
Mahdi al-Mashat, the president of the Supreme Political Council in Yemen, reaffirmed Sanaa's steadfast stance on the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza, calling on the United States and Britain to halt their brutal aggression against the people of Gaza and exert pressure to lift the Israeli-imposed siege on the Strip.
In his speech on the occasion of the National Day of Resilience, he pointed out that "in commemorating this day, we do not celebrate the war imposed upon us, but rather the decision to confront it and defend [the country], as well as the resilience of our people."
Al-Mashat indicated that "Yemen had to choose between enduring and suffering, on the one hand, but with a purpose and a project worthy of the suffering, or surrendering and suffering even more, on the other."
The top diplomat made it clear that the 26th of March marked the beginning of the journey for a "beloved Yemen" despite being the start date of an external aggression backed by international alignment.
"On this anniversary, we are committed to solidifying all the principles our martyrs upheld and to reinforcing and enriching the values and ideas that forged this resilience," he said.
Al-Mashat hailed the steadfast Yemeni people, with all their components, and extended a salute to the leader of the Ansar Allah movement, Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi. He also saluted Yemeni martyrs, the wounded, the fighters, prisoners, and all members of the security and armed forces.
The President of the Supreme Political Council in Yemen reiterated Sanaa's unwavering commitment to moving forward on the path of peace, assuring all sides that "Yemen does not pose a threat to anyone."
Elsewhere, al-Mashat called on the leaders of the Saudi coalition to move forward toward achieving sustainable peace, ending the aggression, and signing and implementing the peace roadmap that has been agreed upon.
