Marib Mercenaries Preparing for Handover: Ansar Allah Official
Ansar Allah official Abdul Wahab al-Mahbashi told Al Mayadeen that prominent officials in Ma'rib want to maintain the war in the city.
Ansar Allah political bureau member Abdul Wahab al-Mahbashi told Al Mayadeen about the latest developments in Marib, the strategic Yemeni city whose liberation is very close according to many military experts.
Several officials in Marib want the war to go on in the city, including Marib governor Sultan al-Arada and Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar, al-Mahbashi revealed.
"Those who have been on the payroll of the Saudi-led coalition since the start of the aggression do not want the war in Marib to end," he asserted.
The official noted that the tribes of Marib have shown their cooperation with the Yemeni forces. "The people and residents of Marib have been standing with the Army and Popular Committees, and that was very tangible across all liberated cities," he said.
"There is a raging battle in the al-Wadi district between the honorable Obeida tribe and the coalition's mercenaries," al-Mahbashi added.
Regarding the division in the al-Islah party, the official explained that lower-ranking officials in the party are more "mature" and "rational" than higher-ranking officials, who he said were used to treason. However, he clarified that tribes are dominant in Marib, which is why the parties do not have much influence.
The mercenaries in Marib have started preparing for handing the city over as the Sana'a forces are approaching the city, which means its liberation is right around the corner. "All US and Saudi courses of action against Yemen have been met with failure," he asserted, explaining that the mercenaries are falling in Marib.
