US Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has become the first Republican member of Congress to publicly describe the situation in Gaza as genocide. In a statement posted Tuesday on X, Greene emphasized the dual need to acknowledge both the events of October 7 and the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
“It’s the most truthful and easiest thing to say that Oct 7th in Israel was horrific and all hostages must be returned, but so is the genocide, humanitarian crisis, and starvation happening in Gaza,” Greene wrote.
I remember the first time I met Randy Fine when he was a candidate before he barely won Florida’s deep red 6th district seat, as we were being told he might actually lose the seat because the strong Trump district couldn’t relate to him and didn’t like him.

Greene's remarks came in direct response to a statement by Republican Rep. Randy Fine, who dismissed reports of Palestinian starvation by stating, “Release the hostages. Until then, starve away.” Greene condemned his words as "disgraceful" and "awful," warning that such rhetoric could "actually cause more antisemitism."

Her comments mark a significant departure from the traditional Republican narrative on the Gaza war, highlighting growing divisions within US political ranks regarding the conflict and US support for "Israel."
Dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues
Earlier in the day, RIA Novosti reported that critical food shortages and restricted humanitarian aid in Gaza have left many Palestinians risking their lives to secure food for their families.
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 1,179 people have been killed and nearly 8,000 injured in Israeli strikes while queuing for food near aid distribution centers since operations began on May 27.
Meanwhile, the death toll of the Israeli genocide in Gaza has surpassed 60,034 Palestinians killed at the hands of the bloodthirsty Israeli occupation forces and government. Of the 60,000 martyrs, 18,592 are children, and 9,782 are women.
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, women and children constitute more than 47% of the war's martyrs, clear evidence that "Israel" is deliberately targeting defenseless civilians.
