BREAKING
Sheikh Qassem: Our supporters make up more than half of Lebanon's population, and all of these people are united under the banner of protecting Lebanon, its Resistance, its people, and its integrity.
Sheikh Qassem: There will be no phased handing in of our arms. [The Israelis] must first enact the agreement before we start talking about a defensive strategy.
Sheikh Qassem: Be brave in the face of foreign pressures, and we will be by your side in this stance.
Sheikh Qassem: Stripping us of our arms is like stripping us of our very soul, and this will prompt us to show them our might.
Sheikh Qassem: We will not abandon our arms, for they gave us dignity; we will not abandon our arms, for they protect us against our enemy.
Sheikh Qassem: The US efforts we are seeing are aimed at sabotaging Lebanon and constitute a call for sedition.
Sheikh Qassem: If you truly want to establish sovereignty and work for Lebanon’s interests, then stop the aggression.
Sheikh Qassem: The United States, which is meddling in Lebanon, is not trustworthy but rather poses a danger to it.
Sheikh Qassem: The United States is preventing the weapons that protect the homeland.
Sheikh Qassem: The government’s latest decision [on the disarmament of the Resistance] is non-charter-based, and if the government continues down this path, it is not faithful to Lebanon’s sovereignty.

US Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene on Wednesday shook the House of Representatives and brought the House Oversight hearing into chaos after brandishing nude photos of US President Joe Biden's son, Hunter.

Greene showed photos of Biden engaging in sexual acts said to be prostitution, drawing the ire of Democrats who expressed their dissatisfaction with the fact that she was showing such imagery on the Congress floor.

The debacle took place during a hearing dedicated to the testimony of two IRS whistleblowers alleging that the criminal probe into Hunter was mishandled by the Department of Justice after it resulted in a plea deal on tax charges.

Republicans spent the first few hours underlining that the whistleblowers' testimonies were credible in laying the groundwork for further proof and speculation about what they called the "Biden crime family" amid allegations of foreign bribery schemes.

Democrats condemned the investigation into the Bidens as an "exercise in futility and embarrassment,"  stressing that House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer did not provide any evidence of US President Joe Biden committing any wrongdoing.

Holding up several placards showing Hunter Biden engaging in sexual activity, Greene said they were evidence of the President's son making pornography.

The pictures are out of Biden's infamous laptop, with the Georgia congresswoman asking the witnesses if they thought Biden being involved with prostitutes came in violation of any federal laws.

"So when Hunter Biden paid for this woman to do this with him, to travel across state lines from California to Washington, D.C., on June 15, this is a violation of the Mann Act. This was prostitution," she said while brandishing the censored pictures.

The Mann Act is a federal law that made it illegal to transport "any woman or girl for the purpose of prostitution or debauchery, or for any other immoral purpose."

"Hunter recorded multiple sex tapes with a prostitute he had paid for out of his law firm’s bank," one of the posters read.

"Should we be displaying this, Mr. Chairman?!" Ranking Member Jamie Raskin asked as Greene was showing the photos as she demanded an investigation into Hunter Biden "making sex tapes" and "online pornography" before showing more pictures of him.

Representative Dan Goldman complained about the publicization of such images, saying they were "not actually even allegations, much less evidence of anything", which was validated by Comer, who highlighted that the material was available online "long before I became chairman of this committee."

House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith. revealed in June that the Justice Department blocked two probes by US Attorney David Weiss that would have brought some tough charges against Hunter.

His statement came in light of the committee’s vote to unseal alleged evidence put forward by an IRS whistleblower claiming that the DoJ carried out a politically-driven intervention in the Hunter Biden investigation.

Smith told reporters that the justice department under Joe Biden's administration prevented charges against Hunter Biden twice in Washington, DC, and California in 2022.

Attorney General Merrick Garland told Congress in March that charges introduced by Weiss against Hunter Biden must pass by him for authorization. But last Wednesday, Garland said he granted Weiss "full authority to decide the matter as he decided was appropriate."

The IRS recommended charges against Hunter Biden that were not approved by Garland, Smith claimed. "The testimony we released today shows the IRS recommended charges against Hunter Biden that included an attempt to evade or defeat tax, a felony; fraud or false statements, a felony; and willful failure to file returns, supply information, or pay tax," he told reporters.

“These tax crimes cover an estimated $2.2 million and unreported tax on global income streams to Mr. Biden and his associates from Ukraine, Romania, and China totaling $17.3 million from 2014 to 2019," adding that “Mr. Biden personally received $8.3 million."

The testimony shows tactics used by the DoJ to delay the investigation long enough to reach the statute of limitations, evidence they divulged sensitive actions by the investigative team to Biden’s attorneys and denied requests by the US Attorney to bring charges against Biden, he continued.

The whistleblower, Gary Shapley, told the House Ways and Means Committee that as an investigator for the IRS, he obtained Whatsapp messages sent by Hunter Biden. Shapley claimed that Hunter Biden demanded money from Chinese businessman Henry Zhao in one of the messages.

Hunter Biden will appear before a judge on July 26, when is expected to accept a plea deal. His lawyer said in an interview with MSNBC earlier that if the judge accepts the plea deal, his client will not be subjected to further charges.
