'Palestine’s worth is invaluable, and Abu Anas was our most precious to offer'
Anas Al-Hassani, son of martyred leader Iyad Al-Abd Al-Hassani (Abu Anas), indicated in his interview for Al Mayadeen Online that martyr Abu Anas cannot be limited to being the leader of the Islamic Jihad movement only. On the contrary, Anas relates how he heard from Al-Qassam Brigades, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, and all other Resistance factions that Abu Anas was "a national and pivotal leader in the great project of unified Resistance, which extends from Gaza to the West Bank, Al-Quds, occupied territories, Beirut, Tehran, Baghdad, and Sanaa… all the way to all the free people of the world.
The eldest son of martyr Abu Anas confirmed that his father, the leader, always sought to "unify the battlefields under one slogan, which is Palestine, as it is the ultimate destination and the honor of the nation… all under the slogan of ‘we shall pray in Al-Quds.’"
Anas revealed to Al Mayadeen Net that his father was the one who urged him to study medicine, adding that one of the greatest notions that Abu Anas enrooted in their souls is that "we, the people of Palestine, the people of Gaza, must be educated and intellectual.”
“He is the one who pushed me to study abroad, to be a doctor. That is why I studied for 9 years in order to consolidate his vision,” Anas added.
Ali Al-Hassani, martyr Abu Anas’ other son, revealed another aspect of his father's personality, which reflected utmost kindness, and said that his father "was affectionate and kind and always sought to plant a smile on our faces, spreading positive vibes with his sweet spirit.”
“His embrace was our haven,” he added.
Ali confirmed his father's keenness to see his children, even if only for one hour every day, despite his fatigue, and this would always "alleviate our pain and hardships."
'The Resistance will not be broken...'
Hadi, the son of martyred leader Khalil Salah Al-Bahtini (Abu Hadi), told Al Mayadeen Net that his father has been one of the reasons for "the strength of the Resistance and the strength of the Al-Quds Brigades," however, he reaffirmed that losing him will not weaken the Resistance, but rather, all the freedom and Resistance fighters "will be proud that their leader is a martyr."
Hadi revealed that his father had always told him that he had "achieved all but one, which is martyrdom," stressing that he "was preparing himself for this moment."
Hadi added that Commander Khalil was "a caring father at home" while also being a strong leader on the battlefield. Hadi underscored that words will never do him justice "no matter how hard he tried to explain."
Significantly, Hadi reaffirmed that he and his brothers will continue to follow in their father's footsteps despite it being a difficult path. "We will all tread the same path," he concluded.
'He aspired for martyrdom, and martyrdom is what he got'
On her part, the mother of martyred leader Ahmad Mahmoud Abu Daqqa told Al Mayadeen Net that her son Ahmad has countless merits as he is "affectionate, of high values and morals, loving and kind-hearted, and empathic toward strangers and relatives."
Ahmad's mother pointed out that the martyred leader aspired for martyrdom, and he eventually attained it, stressing that she is "proud of her son."
Um Ahmad addressed the Palestinian mothers, urging them to enroot in their children the love of the homeland.
Last week, the Palestinian Resistance launched Operation Avenging the Free in response to the five-day Israeli aggression against Gaza that left 33 Palestinian martyrs, including six PIJ commanders, and more than 100 injuries. The aggression ended following an Egyptian-mediated ceasefire.
