Three Lebanese were martyred this morning in an Israeli aggression on the southern town of Yohmar al-Shaqif.
In detail, an Israeli drone struck a car, accompanied by artillery shelling targeting the al-Dabash neighborhood, east of the town of Yohmor al-Shaqif, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported.
Earlier, at dawn, another Lebanese citizen was martyred in the town of Maaroub in the Tyre district after an Israeli drone targeted his car.
Over the past few days, the Israeli occupation has escalated its aggression against Lebanese villages in the south and the Bekaa Valley, launching a series of raids that have resulted in deaths and injuries, in a continuing violation of the ceasefire agreement.
This targeting comes two days after an Israeli drone targeted a car in the southern Lebanese town of Qaaqaiyat al-Jisr, late on Monday, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported.
The attack marks another grave violation of the ceasefire agreement between the Israeli occupation and Lebanon, despite full Lebanese commitment to the clauses of the deal.
It is worth recalling that Israeli occupation forces launched a series of airstrikes and shelled several towns in the region on Saturday. These attacks resulted in the deaths and injuries of several civilians in southern Lebanon while also targeting eastern Lebanon.
Before these escalations, blatant Israeli violations had been ongoing, namely targeted and sporadic strikes that undermined Lebanese sovereignty. These violations included repeated incursions into Lebanese airspace and the occupation of points along the Lebanon-Palestine border.
A ceasefire agreement was originally put into effect on November 27, 2024, following brutal Israeli aggression on Lebanon. Although the mediated agreement guaranteed full Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon by January 27 this year, the deadline for withdrawal was extended to February 18. Despite this, Israeli occupation forces continue to occupy several points inside bordering Lebanese towns and directly attack civilians and Army personnel in the region.
