US President Donald Trump's ultimatums to Russia are misguided, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev stated on X, warning that such actions could have greater domestic repercussions for Trump than he anticipates.
"Trump's playing the ultimatum game with Russia: 50 days or 10… He should remember 2 things: 1. Russia isn't Israel or even Iran. 2. Each new ultimatum is a threat and a step towards war," Medvedev said in his post on X.

1. Russia isn't Israel or even Iran.
2. Each new ultimatum is a threat and a step towards war. Not between Russia and Ukraine, but with his own country. Don't go down the Sleepy Joe road!
Trump announced on Monday his intention to revoke the initial 50-day deadline for Russia and Ukraine to negotiate a deal, warning that if no agreement is reached within 10 to 12 days, he will impose 100% tariffs against Russia and its trading allies.
"Each new ultimatum is a threat and a step towards war. Not between Russia and Ukraine, but with his own country," Medvedev said, warning Trump.
"Don't go down the Sleepy Joe road!" the Russian official sarcastically affirmed.
Europe squashed by Trump trade deal: Medvedev
In a different context, Medvedev criticized the newly negotiated trade agreement between the United States and the European Union, asserting that while the deal heavily benefits Washington, it represents a complete humiliation for the European side.
"Trump has squashed Europe," he wrote on Telegram. "The new ‘deal’ with the European Union is a) totally humiliating for the Europeans as it only serves the United States by leaving the European market unprotected and zeroing out tariffs on US goods; b) creates huge additional costs for industries and agriculture in many EU countries stemming from the need to pay for expensive US energy; and c) diverts a massive investment flow from Europe to the US," Medvedev specified.
"They should probably be storming Brussels now in order to hang all EU commissioners, including crazy old witch Ursula," Medvedev added, pointing out that one could only sympathize with the average European. "It wouldn't help matters but at least it would be fun," the Russian official added.
Medvedev noted that while Trump frequently shifted positions, he consistently pursued one key goal: aggressively pushing his country's economic agenda.
He further argued that the trade deal, which blocks Russian energy imports, was explicitly anti-Russian, asserting that while Trump acted out of business interests, Europe, which he insultingly called delusional and fanatical, was harming its own people by following what he labeled as aggressive, Russia-hostile policies.
