Meeting between Al-Jolani, Turkish delegation in Idlib: Local sources
A delegation from "Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham" (formerly known as the Al-Nusra front) received a Turkish military delegation in Idlib, Syria.
Local sources in Idlib reported that a Turkish military delegation entered on Thursday the Syrian-Turkish border from the Bab Al-Hawa crossing gate, north of Idlib, within a convoy of seven cars and two armored vehicles carrying masked soldiers.
The sources indicated that a delegation from the terrorist organization "Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham" (formerly known as the Al-Nusra front) received the Turkish military delegation, as they went to a building near the crossing to hold the meeting, where the leader of the organization, Abu Mohammad Al-Jolani, was waiting for them.
The sources indicated that dozens of gunmen were deployed near the meeting place, as the truck's movement was paralyzed the whole day.
In addition, workers at the crossing were prevented from leaving their positions after all their communication devices were seized.
Al Mayadeen Net learned that the meeting lasted for about two hours from the moment the Turkish military delegation entered the meeting place, which is located at a distance of 200 meters from the crossing.
According to the sources, some of the leaks issued by the meeting stated that it was about foreigners in Al-Jolani's prisons, with no further details known.
The meeting is considered the first in which the leader of "Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham", Abu Mohammad Al-Jolani, participates in person at the request of the Turkish side.
It is noteworthy the Russian Federal Security Service reported that 10 individuals were arrested in nine Russian districts for conspiring with members of the "Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham" to set up a vast network to collect funds for militants in Idlib.
