Al-Miqdad: Obstructing nuclear agreement with Iran aids "Israel"
The Syrian and Iranian foreign ministers discuss the nuclear agreement and negotiations in Tehran.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi welcomed a Syrian delegation headed by Syria's Foreign Minister Faisal al-Miqdad and Deputy Foreign Minister Bashar al-Jaafari.
During his meeting with al-Miqdad, Raisi expressed that Iran seeks to strengthen existing relations between the two nations, particularly economy and trade, noting that there could be an improvement in trade and exchange capabilities between the two countries.
Raisi disclosed that Syria plays an "important role" in regional equations and constitutes the first line of resistance against the Zionists.
The Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian held a press conference with al-Miqdad in which they discussed prominent regional issues.

Amir-Abdollahian talked about Martyr Qassem Soleimani and his crucial role in fighting terrorism, detailing that Iran is closely monitoring the attempts of terrorist groups to create insecurity and instability in Iraq and Syria.
The Foreign Minister welcomed the return of Arab and Western relations with Syria, stressing that a foreign presence in Syria does not contribute to the security or stability of the region.
Amir-Abdollahian: Iran is concerned about the repudiation of the nuclear agreement
The Foreign Minister expressed Iranian concern that "Israel's" actions are not in the interest of the region, revealing that in the coming months, it will witness new developments.
Regarding the Vienna negotiations, Amir-Abdollahian stressed that the claims of some Western parties are unfounded, detailing that Iran went with a sincere and serious intention to lift the embargo on the Iranian people.
On the topic of Afghanistan, he also reiterated Tehran's support for the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan that focuses its efforts on fighting terrorism, warning that Iran will not be lenient when it comes to protecting its borders.
On his part, the Syrian FM delivered a written letter of invitation to the Iranian President from the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
He articulated his view that the Middle East should be a region of peace, and not colonial influence, noting that the US transferred thousands of terrorists from Syria to Afghanistan.
He called on the states to break their silence and voice their opposition to the sanctions that still prevent other countries from coming to Syria.
Al-Miqdad stressed that the Israeli schemes must be exposed, noting that the Iranian nuclear program is a peaceful one.
Al-Miqdad: Continuous Israeli aggression on Syria is unacceptable
On the subject of Israeli aggression against Syria, he commented that when "Israel" finds out that Syria has won thanks to its allies and army, it resorts to aggression.
He added that Syria's response to the attacks may vary.
In another context, he said that Western countries are the ones meddling to prevent an economic cooperation agreement between the countries of the region.
The visit of the UAE's Foreign Minister to Damascus, according to al-Miqdad, was a favorable step, adding that Syria hopes that such initiatives will increase.
