Morales supporters end protest in Bolivia after some demands met
The resignation of the country's Constitutional Court judges, who disqualified Morales from reelection, was one of the protest's demands, alongside demanding them to be elected by popular vote.
Following protests by thousands of former Bolivian President Evo Morales supporters who blocked roads over his disqualification from the 2025 elections, the demonstrators ceased their protests in the streets on Tuesday after some demands were met.
Up to 36 roads were blocked by the coca growers, among whom Morales is very popular, which stopped travel between the major cities of La Paz and Santa Cruz.
The resignation of the country's Constitutional Court judges, who disqualified Morales from reelection, was one of the protest demands, alongside demanding them to be elected by popular vote.
The judges claimed that Morales reached his term limit, therefore disqualifying him.
This comes after a law was revealed on Tuesday by President Luis Arce providing for the election of the 26 judges in Bolivia's highest courts within 230 days.

According to Deputy Minister of Communications Gabriela Alcon, the blockades resulted in more than $982 million in damage to the economy, while the Ministry of the Interior stated that 71 police officers were wounded and 21 demonstrators were arrested during clashes.
It is worth mentioning that Morales is the country's first Indigenous president, having taken office in 2006, and was highly popular until his attempt to bypass the constitution and seek a fourth term in 2019.
Morales stepped down from his post in November 2019 under pressure from the military in November 2019, after protests against the results of the presidential elections. Morales later announced that he was forced to resign after a coup backed by the United States.
