Nancy Pelosi scolds pro-Palestine protesters to 'go back to China'
Pro-Palestine protesters gather outside Pelosi's house demanding a ceasefire.
As protesters gathered outside Nancy Pelosi's house urging for a ceasefire of the Israeli genocide in Gaza, the former US House Speaker was caught on camera, scolding the pro-Palestinian protesters and telling them to ''go back to China," alleging that this was the location of their ''headquarters''.
A viral video of the incident showed Pelosi attempting to enter a vehicle parked in front of her house as protesters surrounded her pressing for an answer on the ceasefire, to which she responded, ''Go back to China, that's where your headquarters is.''
Pelosi: Russia behind pro-Palestine protests
According to Reuters, former US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi stated during a CNN interview on Sunday that she believes certain rallies in the United States calling for a ceasefire in Gaza are tied to Russia, warning that the FBI should investigate them.
''We have to think about what we're doing, and what we have to do is try to stop the suffering in Gaza but for them to call for a ceasefire is Mr. Putin's message. Make no mistake, this is directly connected to what he would like to see," she speculated.
''I think some of these protesters are spontaneous and organic and sincere. Some, I think, are connected to Russia. And I say that having looked at this for a long time now, as you know,'' she added.
The Russian embassy in Washington did not comment, as this is the first such comment to come from a US lawmaker. Ibrahim Hooper, a spokesperson for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, called it "unconscionable" that Pelosi could make such "unsubstantiated smears targeting those who seek an end to the slaughter of civilians in Gaza," detailing that her comments paint a clear image of "decades of dehumanization of the Palestinian people."
In addition, Nihad Awad, head of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, stated that the organization was ''deeply disturbed'' by Pelosi's comments. ''Rep. Pelosi's claim that some of the Americans protesting for a Gaza ceasefire are working with Vladimir Putin sounds delusional and her call for the FBI to investigate those protesters without any evidence is downright authoritarian,'' Nihad expressed, according to a CNN quote.
