NSDC: Kiev observes no threat of a military operation against Ukraine
As Russia assures that it had no intention of launching a full-scale military operation against Ukraine, the latter sees a stable security situation despite US’ ongoing warmongering.
The secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Oleksiy Danilov said that Kiev does not regard a full-scale operation against it as a threat, but it does keep track of Russian provocations.
"If we are talking about a full-scale operation in relation to our state, then we do not see this. Today we see provocations from the Russian Federation. The goal is to provoke our powerful response in order to accuse us of what we are not going to do," Danilov told reporters.
On his account, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky denied, on Thursday, Ukraine's need for direct military intervention in its territory and stressed his need for military and logistical assistance.
Despite Ukraine’s stance, US President Joe Biden warned that "the risk of a Russian invasion of Ukraine is very high."
In a press conference, he stated that a Russian invasion could happen "in the coming days," noting that he had "no intention" of contacting his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
NATO and several Western countries have accused Russia in recent months of preparing an "attack in Ukraine," based on allegations that Russia has increased the number of its soldiers in areas near the Ukrainian border to 125,000 people.
For its part, Moscow rejects all these accusations, noting that the transfer of its forces in its territory is an internal matter.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Maria Zakharova, accused the US of "running the media campaign about the so-called (the imminent Russian invasion) of Ukraine."
