Armed confrontations erupted Wednesday afternoon after the Israeli occupation forces surrounded a house in Deir Al-Hatab, east of Nablus, in the northern occupied West Bank.

The occupation forces surrounded the liberated prisoner Salman Omran in the house, while resistance fighters confronted the occupation soldiers in support of the besieged chased Omran, according to local sources.

The occupation forces deployed military reinforcements from the special units and the so-called Al-Yamam forces in the vicinity of the besieged house, while occupation snipers stood on the roofs of the neighboring houses, eyewitnesses confirmed.

"A bulldozer belonging to the occupation started to demolish the walls surrounding the house in which the chased Salman Omran is holed up in the town of Deir Al-Hatab," they said, adding that "the brother of Omran was injured in the hand as a result of the confrontations and was transferred to Rafidia Hospital for treatment."

Al Mayadeen correspondent reported three injuries, including a serious one, when the young men confronted the occupation forces' siege.

In turn, the Ministry of Health confirmed the death of the 21-year-old Alaa Nasser Ahmad Zaghal, as a result of being shot in the head by the occupation forces in Deir Al-Hatab.

"There are reports that one of the soldiers of the Mousta'ribin of Al-Yamam unit was hit by a bullet to the head," our correspondent noted.

For its part, the Palestinian Red Crescent said, in a brief statement, that "the occupation forces are preventing the ambulance crews of the Red Crescent Society from entering Deir Al-Hatab," where there are reports of injuries.

The Palestinian Wafa Agency said three journalists were injured while covering the ongoing confrontations in the village of Deir Al-Hatab, near the city of Nablus.

"The ongoing confrontations in Nablus between the chased Salman Omran and the heavily armed Zionist occupation forces represent the pride of the Palestinian people and their staunch resistance," Hamas spokesman Abdel Latif Al-Qanou said, adding that they "reflect the valor of the rebellious youth in the face of the occupation."

"All attempts of the occupation will not extinguish the flame of resistance and will fail to break the will of the rebellious and resistant youth," the spokesman added, stressing that the revolution will not stop until the occupation is defeated.

According to the same sources, the occupation forces were chasing Salman Omran, before resistance fighters joined him and confronted members of one of the special Israeli occupation army groups.

Activists on social media circulated an audio message to Omran, in which he demanded whoever has a weapon go to his house and confront the occupation forces who were besieging him in his house at that time in Nablus.
