A Palestinian youth was martyred after succumbing to wounds sustained by Israeli occupation forces' gunfire during their storming of the Jenin refugee camp early Monday, Palestinian media reported.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the martyrdom of Ashraf Mohammad Amin Ibrahim (37 years old).

According to the Ministry, Ibrahim was shot with two explosive bullets, one in his abdomen that caused his liver to shatter, while another hit his chest puncturing his lung.

Palestine state broadcaster stated that the martyr is a colonel in the intelligence service and a former prisoner.

Media sources and eyewitnesses in the area said a large Israeli military force storming the camp was confronted by Al-Quds Brigades - Jenin Brigade.

Israeli occupation forces had to call in heavy reinforcements due to fierce fighting put up by the Resistance, reports added.

Al-Quds Brigades announced that they ambushed an IOF, noting that they targeted the unit with heavy fire and explosives and confirmed direct hits. The storming units were forced to retreat, the Resistane group added.

On Sunday, Hamas military wing Al-Qassam Brigades announced targeting "Janir" and "Dothan" occupation settlements with heavy gunfire. The Resistance group confirmed direct hits among Israeli soldiers and settlers, noting that its fighters were able to retreat safely after the operation.

The Israeli occupation's storming of Palestinian cities at the crack of dawn is commonplace as part of its systemic policy of terrorizing the Palestinian people.

Last Friday morning, IOF attacked the Palestinian West Bank city of Qabatiya, opening fire at civilians and injuring one Palestinian youth in the process. Just one day before, the occupation military raided the Aqabat Jaber camp, Areeha, before they were confronted by the Palestinian Resistance, resulting in a multitude of injuries.

Over 150 Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli occupation since the beginning of the year, including 36 in the heinous Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip - almost a third of which were children and women, as per the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
