Palestinian factions say Gaza ceasefire deal 'closer than ever'
Delegations from Hamas, the PIJ, and the PFLP also hailed the performance and the top-tier operations of the Palestinian Resistance and its fighters.
The Palestinian Resistance factions discussed Friday the course of the ongoing war on Gaza and the advancement of the indirect negotiations for a ceasefire and a prisoner exchange deal, in addition to all the developments at the regional level.
This came during a meeting that brought together delegations of the leaderships of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) Movement, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), in the Egyptian capital Cairo.
In a joint statement issued after the talks, the factions asserted that they are keen to stop the Israeli aggression in light of international collusion that they described as "shameful", pointing out that the possibility of reaching an agreement "is closer than ever, provided the enemy stops imposing new conditions."
The attendees touched on the suffering of the Palestinian people and the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation round the clock in an attempt to undermine the steadfastness of this people and its adherence to confronting displacement plans and the crime of genocide.
The delegations also discussed the latest developments in the plan of the Community Support Committee to administer the Gaza Strip, expressing their appreciation for Egypt's effort in completing this plan and the importance of starting practical steps to form the committee and bringing it to light as soon as possible.
The Palestinian factions agreed to continue communicating to consult and coordinate on all developments related to the Israeli aggression and ceasefire negotiations.
Moreover, they agreed to arrange another meeting "at the earliest opportunity," with the aim of completing requirements to put the final touches on forming the Community Support Committee to administer the Gaza Strip post-war.
Elsewhere, the leaderships of the three factions hailed the performance and the top-tier operations of the Palestinian Resistance and its fighters, who inflict daily material and human losses on the ranks of the Israeli occupation.
