Israeli settlers attacked several villages and towns in the occupied West Bank on Saturday and opened fire toward Palestinians and their properties, leading to the martyrdom of one Palestinian in al-Mughayyir town, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Ramallah reported.

Among the villages targeted by the settlers' assaults were Baytin, Turmus Aya, Atara, and Deir Dibwan east of the Ramallah and al-Bireh governorates.

Our correspondent said that settlers fired live ammunition at Palestinians in the towns of Deir Dibwan and Baytin, damaging their vehicles and setting many of them on fire near the Jalazone refugee camp, the town of Bruqin in Salfit, and the Ain Siniya roundabout east of Ramallah.

Meanwhile, local sources reported that dozens of settlers closed the western entrance of Silwad, known as the Yabrud Bridge, and attacked citizens' vehicles with stones, without any injuries reported.

They also mentioned that a number of settlers prevented Palestinian vehicles from entering or leaving the town. Concurrently, settlers closed the entrance of Turmus Aya and attacked passing vehicles.

Shortly after, Israeli occupation forces closed the entrances of the towns of Sinjil, Deir Dibwan, and al-Mughayyir, preventing vehicles from passing.

This comes just one day after Israeli settlers, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, attacked the homes of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank town of al-Mughayyir to the northeast of Ramallah.

Violent attacks on West Bank villages intensify

Al Mayadeen's correspondent to Ramallah reported on Friday that multiple illegal settlers ransacked Palestinians' properties in al-Mughayyir, destroying and setting ablaze several cars, while opening fire from their rifles and guns on the homes of Palestinians in the village.

People were also injured after being physically assaulted by settlers while others were stoned by fanatic hordes. Another Palestinian was shot in the upper leg by an Israeli settler and was transferred to a hospital for medical care, the Palestinian Red Crescent announced.

Meanwhile, Palestinians called on each other, via megaphones, to defend their town, which has come under a brutal attack. Israeli Army Radio said that three Israeli soldiers were injured in confrontations with unarmed Palestinians who hurled stones at them.

Israeli occupation forces also raided a number of towns surrounding Nablus and Ramallah in a surprise detention campaign.
