Palestinian Prisoners Commission Calls For a One-Day Hunger Strike
The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs reported that the Israeli occupation authorities transferred the hunger-striking prisoner, Ayyad Hraimi, from Ofer Prison to the Ramla prison clinic.
The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs called for a one-day hunger strike on Thursday and solidarity rallies after the Friday prayer in all villages, cities, and camps.
The strike comes to protest the prisoners’ deteriorating health conditions and the Israeli occupation’s senselessness and arrogance, the Commission said, calling for ending their unjust administrative detention and liberating them.
The Israeli occupation authorities transferred hunger-striking prisoner Ayyad Hraimi from Ofer Prison to the Ramla prison clinic, the Commission reported.
Hraimi has been hunger-striking for 42 days.
The condition of prisoners Qawasmi and al-Fasfous is deteriorating rapidly, Commission spokesperson Hassan Abd Rabbo reported.
"It seems that the occupation has taken an undeclared decision to finish one of the prisoners on hunger strike," the spokesperson added.
Iman Badr, mother of Miqdad Qawasmi, demanded the liberation of her captive son. Badr told Al Mayadeen it was not possible to follow up on her son's condition due to the strict measures put in place by the occupation.
The Commission warned Tuesday that the health condition of hunger-striking prisoner Kayed al-Fasfous is deteriorating rapidly and that it has reached a very critical and dangerous stage that may lead to his martyrdom at any moment.
It also declared that al-Fasfous is handcuffed to his bed at the Israeli Barzilai hospital and that he refuses to undergo any medical examinations except in a Palestinian hospital.
The six Palestinian prisoners continue their open hunger strike in protest of the Israeli administrative detention policy amid deteriorating health conditions threatening their lives.
