Violent confrontations erupted between Palestinian youths and Israeli occupation forces on Friday evening in the city of Jenin in the occupied West Bank.

Israeli occupation forces fired flares at the apartheid wall near Marj Ibn Amer, west of Jenin, as Palestinian Resistance fighters targeted a compound of buildings of the Israeli occupation forces in the area with a heavy barrage of bullets.

Local sources told Amad Media that confrontations also broke out in the village of Al-Jalamah, north of Jenin, during which Israeli occupation forces fired tear gas canisters at Palestinian youths.

Palestinian youths targeted the occupation forces with a homemade explosive as they stormed the town.

On Thursday, Palestinian Resistance factions called for national unity and the bolstering of comprehensive Resistance to defend the country against continuous Israeli violations.

On the same day, local sources reported that a Palestinian youth was injured in the chest by Israeli gunfire after Israeli occupation forces attacked Palestinians commemorating the Palestinian Land Day east of Gaza City.

On Friday, Israeli occupation forces brutally cracked down on a demonstration in the town of Huwara, south of Nablus, where Palestinians protested against the imposed closure of the town.

In a related context, Jibril Rajoub, president of the Palestinian Football Association (PFA), strongly condemned the violent storming of Israeli occupation forces into the Faisal Al Husseini International Stadium in the town of Al-Ram, north of occupied Al-Quds.

On Thursday, Israeli occupation forces stormed the stadium and fired teargas into the pitch and stands, halting a football match and causing suffocation among players and fans.

Rajoub described the Israeli attack as "a premeditated assault intended to harm the lives of our people and the lives of our players," confirming that the PFA "will reach out to the whole world, including the Asian and International Football Associations, to put an end to this terrorism being practiced against Palestinian sports and athletes."

The Palestinian official considered that the unprovoked Israeli assault on the stadium is "proof of the Israeli occupation's crimes against our people."

"We believe that this evidence can form a basis for confronting the crimes of the occupation against our people and against sports by these neo-Nazis," he stressed.
