Al Mayadeen correspondent reports an attempt on the life of the Palestinian National Security Liaison Officer, Saeed Al-Asous, in the Ain Al-Hilweh camp in southern Lebanon, adding that he is in critical condition.

A Palestinian security official was shot dead late on Monday in Ain Al-Hilweh refugee camp in southern Lebanon, Palestinian security officials said.
This comes just hours after a truce has been reached between "Israel" and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement in Gaza.
Said Al-Asous was shot in the head by unknown assailants and died later of critical wounds, sources told Reuters.
Al-Asous led security coordination among various Palestinian factions in Ain Al-Hilweh.
