Palestinians' bodies left by IOF for stray dogs: Gaza Civil Defense
The Gaza Health Ministry says that Israeli gunfire continues round the clock in the Kamal Adwan Hospital's vicinity, with shells hitting its third floor and doors.
Israeli occupation forces are killing Palestinians and leaving their bodies in the streets, where stray dogs feed on them, which constitutes a blatant violation of international law, Gaza’s Civil Defense underlined on Saturday, Anadolu Agency reported.
In its statement, the Civil Defense highlighted that Israeli forces have repeatedly targeted rescue teams and ambulances, particularly as they attempt to approach the bodies of the martyred.
It further noted that the occupation forces have obstructed efforts to recover the remains of thousands of Palestinians who died under the rubble of homes destroyed in Israeli airstrikes.
The Civil Defense added that several bodies of Palestinian martyrs had been discovered in a skeletal state.
In some cases, it described witnessing stray dogs devouring corpses in multiple neighborhoods, including al-Zaytoun, al-Shujaiya, Tal al-Hawa, the Jabalia area, Tal al-Zaatar, Beit Hanoun, and parts of eastern Khan Younis and Rafah.
The Gaza Civil Defense underscored that such actions by "Israel" are violations of the Geneva Conventions, calling on signatory states to “take immediate action to ensure Israel’s compliance with international law.”
It also urged the international community, including the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), to "pressure Israel to follow proper protocols for handling the bodies of the deceased during wartime."
Kamal Adwan Hospital under unprecedented direct Israeli fire, with staff and patients inside
The Ministry of Health in Gaza condemned the intense and heavy Israeli bombing of Kamal Adwan Hospital, describing it as unprecedented and without prior warning, particularly targeting the care and nursery department.
The Ministry revealed that "Israel's" bombing, which includes bombs and tank fire, is being conducted while medical staff and patients are inside the hospital.
The Ministry held the international community accountable for what the Palestinians are enduring, demanding that the world take responsibility for the suffering and protect Gaza's healthcare system.
With the attacks occurring in plain sight and the world watching, the Ministry stressed that it was unacceptable for the global community to remain silent and fail to intervene against the Israeli occupation's brutality.
Round-the-clock attacks in Kamal Adwan Hospital's vicinity
In an earlier statement, Gaza's Health Ministry pointed to the Israeli attacks targeting the Kamal Adwan Hospital, noting that gunfire continues round the clock in the hospital’s vicinity, with shells hitting its third floor and doors.
The Ministry called on the international community to facilitate the delivery of aid, medicines, and food to the Kamal Adwan Hospital, warning that patients at the facility, as well as in other health centers and hospitals operating in the Gaza Strip, are at risk of death.
Earlier on Saturday, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported a series of explosions caused by demolition operations carried out by the occupation forces near the Kamal Adwan Hospital.
Its director, Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, described the situation at the hospital as critical, citing a severe shortage of supplies, equipment, medicines, and painkillers, urging the international community to take urgent action to facilitate the swift entry of humanitarian aid.
